Paris, like New York and Los Angeles is a place where you occasionally see celebrities going about their everyday lives wishing for anonymity. Cannes is different. The celebrities are definitely out and about but with a purpose. It’s all about PR. Those with films are promoting them; those with out films in the festival are promoting themselves.

Cannes reflects the glamour we imagine that movie stars have. There is none of the Brittany like street where that summons images of a trailer park girl stopping at the C-store on her way to a second shift job at Tyson’s. All are polished and every look and action is thought out with a purpose. Though that doesn’t mean there are not anomalies. I watched a major star with a friend move quietly, but not unrecognized through a crowd. Many smiles and waves and acknowledgements but with out pomp. Later a minor talent known more for being known than for accomplishment showed up with a large retinue commanding the attention of the media.

Cannes is where class ultimately shows. Anyone can put on the gown or the rented tux, and surround themselves with friends, but true style and grace inevitably shows out.

Hope you're having a wonderful time!

Didn't know Cannes can be even more hollywood than Hollywood. Hope you are having a good time! I bet you command a lot of attentions yourself! ;)
