When Marie and I spoke about me touring we planned on trips to the US visiting cities other than NY, DC or LA. But as the dollar fell it would be like giving everyone a 30% discount since there was no way we could raise my rates enough to cover the cost of the currency exchange. By the time we realized this Miami was pretty well booked so we went a head with it and Marie decided to recruit a new girl to be based in the states.

If you were going to write a description of the perfect Marie girl, it might include; liberal arts graduate of an Ivy League type school, Junior Leaguer, former debutante, strong interest in the arts, an athlete with bonus points for dancers and gymnasts, and who is fluent in two or more languages. With regard to physical attributes, beauty of course, size is not important, though height and weight needs to be proportional, no tattoos and excessive or unusual piercings.

Marie being fussy about whom she hires this process has taken months. Finally she has found someone and has brought her to Paris for a last conversation and a couple of initial dates. The woman sensibly requested the opportunity to meet with a couple of Marie’s girls in order to do a reference check. Marie asked me if I would talk with her and I agreed

We met at the café at the Crillon, Jessica is a slim redhead in her late twenties, medium height and very pretty. She wore a nice suit and carried a Prada bag and brief. She’s entering grad student and looks at escorting as a way to cover her school and living expenses at level she is comfortable with. She was very prepared and had a list of questions that basically boiled down to is Marie to be trusted. I answered honestly that she is trustworthy, but she’s not above trying to manipulate you so it is wise to ask a lots of questions when dealing with her and to be specific. If you do that she will follow through as expected.

I asked her if she had made her decision on taking the position. She told me that she had accepted M’s offer pending our conversation and that she would have her first client that evening. In admitting that she seemed anxious and then asked me about ______ , which made me smile, as he was my first client also. I told her that I knew him and that he was a long time customer of Marie’s and well like by the girls. That seemed to set her at ease.

Nice to know there are clients that M can rely upon to be appropriate with new girls.

All I could think of is the small universe of talent that those requirements would represent. But it may be expanding slightly however due to the economy, something that Kim noted. And if you go back to Bush's 1st term, the dollar has dropped something like 40% against the Euro (at it's worst point).

But I still think finding those 'classical' Audrey/Kate Hepburn types is getting pretty damn difficult now. The no body art requirement alone would seem to negate most sexually active women under the age of 35 outside of nunneries. I see plenty of young pregnant mommies with tats, church going teens too.

Still it's nice to know that you've got a reliable regular bloke to break folks into the 'rotation'. Ah, tradition! Cheers, 'VJ'

I tried to read back on your archives and can't seen to find you writing about your first client. Glad to know he is a nice guy and will treat the new girl well. I'm comforted in knowing that Marie is trustworthy and wouldn't do you wrong if you are straight-forward in your dealings with her. Glad it all works out and Jessica will stay because what will Marie thinks if she decids to not take the position after talking to you. :P

I was wondering if there were language requirements. Just curious have you learned any new languages since starting work to better communicate with clients?

Vixen, most Europeans speak 2-3 languages, usually their native plus English, so it normally isn't an issue.

Me, I took 6 years of Spanish in high school and college and a crash course in French when I decided to move here. I've picked up phrases in a couple of other languages since being here, but only enough to order dinner of purchase something.
