In the spring Anne Marie, Chloe, Nathalie and me began talking about an August vacation. Mallorca and Ibiza were suggested satisfying our urge for a bacchanal. Dates were discussed and we went off to check our schedules. Next week worked the best for the others, but in the mean time Jacques asked me to join him in Monterey for the vintage car weekend beginning Thursday. I didn’t feel I could turn him down, so I bowed out of the trip with my friends.

As the week approaches I’m bummed. I could use a week really cutting loose and having a non-stop party. As a consolation I’m going to see Christine for a few days before meeting Jacques. It has been awhile since we’ve been together and I miss her. Perhaps a few days in the mid west will do me well as I’ve been feeling a bit unanchored and C always helps me feel grounded.

One problem of having your own business is that you never quite leave it to go on vacation. So while I’m at Christine’s I’ve scheduled meetings at the ad agency I interned with and with a woman who was my big sister as a pledge who recently became a vice president for a large public relations firm. I'm also planning lunch with Rachel's brother. All in the quest to promote Kim & Co, though I'd see Kip anyway.

The events of yesterday will surely complicate my traveling but I planned to take Wallis II, as my bag and it is not a carry on anyway. Jacques is coming via a private jet with a few associates and they’ll pick me up at Christine’s. Since I planned on seeing a gentleman in Washington on the way home I wasn’t planning on flying back with Jacques but given the circumstances I may cancel that meeting if Jacques' plane has room for me.

A week with the girls having unadulterated fun definitely sound like a blast. I can only imagine what fun it'd be reading the stories you'd have for us afterward too. Too bad work beckons. Be safe in your travel and better find a way to entertain yourself on the plane since I heard they won't even allow you to bring a book. Have a great week/weekend! :)

Yep, I said they'll be handing out tranks & duct tape to every parent & seatmate flying with a child. Along with ear plugs. It's going to get very unpleasant before it gets any better. I fully expect nude boarding soon, and transparent heads/johns on the plane. Just a little privacy screen, and if they see you fiddling with something the steward will come in and escort you to the holding tank. Wait for it! Cheers & Have fun! 'VJ'
