Usually I don't comment on men's fashion and I'm simply pleased when a man is well dressed. But now that I have a boy who is need of stylistic guidance I thought I'd glance at what is being shown.

Is Thom Browne serious? Come on guys how many of you are lining up for flannel shorts with over knee socks?

Huh?

How about a factotum?

A fur stole??

Remember to hold your knees together when sitting in a skirt.

Early in the week Cathy Horn ripped Browne's collection, "Between the shorts and the longer silhouette of stern high-buttoned coats and midi-skirts, you had a cross between a hobbit and Abraham Lincoln." But later in the week seemed to have a change of heart or at least tried to take the edge off the criticism by trying to add a perspective, "Indeed, Mr. Brown’s miniaturizing aesthetic is a reflection of a decadent society — obsessed with design, obsessed with food, obsessed with money and fame."

Why the change? I doubt it was the wailing from Browne's publicist, the complaints from Brooks Brothers, who have hired Thom Browne to design a line of clothing for them, would more likely get a hearing. Perhaps reflection and a critique of her
criticism by her peers. Let us hope it is that.

These pics reaffirm what I believes that most fashion shows are inpratical for every day wear. Any one who wears these outfits into the real world would surely be ridicule. *shrug*

Impractical? It's a fu*king waste of time mate! Thom Browne looks to be from Tom Brown's school days, some 100 YO. Then there's Mr. Ompaloopa from Willy Wonka. Followed by some dude trailing a very large Hoover bag from his rear, his top half last seen at P. G. Wodehouse's parties on Burmuda. Then we get to the lad wearing a carpet sample/remainder, and the plastic wrapped one all with those extra long & silly stocking caps. He'll not last the season at Brooks Bro. Both parties will be relieved by this.

Take R into Barney's in NYC and tell them to get some nice suits for him. It should do fine. Cheers & Good Luck, 'VJ'
