I was up in time to see Barack Obama's speech and then called my Dad who said he never imagined that he'd live to see the day that an African-American would be elected president. The election is the talk of Paris and you would think that France won the World Cup.

A great day for America and a great day to be an American.

FT as usual had some smashing and elegantly simple commentary from their reporters via the web throughout the day. Evidently the embassy staff in London, despite being Bush appointees, were even cheering Obama on. Just amazing. But alas, here in the lower intestine of the beast of the South, Ga. wiped out and was one of the places that went for McInsane in a big way. Not as bad as some, but pretty sad just the same. Cheers & Good Luck, 'VJ'
