The picture above accompanied an article in the NYT and IHT earlier in the week on how luxury brands are cutting back on their advertising spending. I can assure you that it is not just the luxury brands.

The picture is of the 2007 Marc Jacob’s Holiday Party (there will be no 2008 party). I’d like the opportunity to manage an event like this, partly for the prestige and partly for the profit. Though the event manager better make sure to get signed change orders or the reconciliation will be contentious and that is a disagreement that you will never win.

But the little devil in me would like to see the event morph into something out of at Terry Rodgers' painting.
