The invitations begin arriving after Christmas, wedding invitations, the matrimony of friends and cousins; some here but most in the US. Most I knew about from the casual communication among my friends or my grandmother and aunt for family news. My dad being mostly useless for such matters.

For the invitations to wedding here, I check my calendar and pencil it the event in and respond. Weddings in the US I won’t attend, so I put them aside for a couple of weeks and then send my regrets followed by a gift. But not the invitation that arrived today; Rachel and Amy are getting hitched.

I’ve known of course, they had agreed to keep the planning secret, but Rachel has never been good at that and when I spoke with her shortly after they agreed she was about to burst. It is important for both of them that their marriage takes place where they resided, so when D.C. passed marriage equality the opportunity presented itself. Then they waited till the legal and political challenges passed before finalizing their plans.

Just lovely too. Think, Progress! After so many years. And why should it bother anyone? Geesh. How about them Lefties making a come back & brothels too. They go together like? Well theoretical population biology & porn actually, but almost slightly some progress perhaps there too. Cheers & Good Luck! 'VJ'

Some suggested readings placed in Paris:

The Elegance of the Hedgehog (Paperback)
by Muriel Barbery (Author), (translated by Alison Anderson)

Seemingly all the rage actually. And talking about rage? What could be more mad than Washington at this very moment. What might 2 lovers do to 'ruin' such a scene? Just wondering. Any more 'hidden' Bruni pics you've got secreted away might be hitting the top of their potential sale price right about now too! Cheers & Good Luck, 'VJ'
