Security at Davos was extremely tight, even more so than that I witnessed at the Athens' Olympics.  Starting with the Swiss police and civil defense authorities seemingly on every block and in force at public venues. Our hotel and several other facilities I entered checked everyone's ID and required passage through a metal detector, there were also random searches. Lastly, there were the security details employed by the one-percenters in attendance. Many stores had guards by the front door.

The funny thing was all this security didn't make me feel safe, it simply raised my anxiety level. Others expressed the same feelings when the subject was brought up.
